TiVo, Roku and Amazon, not necessarily in that order :) have partnered for HD video on demand. Now TiVo owners can own high-def movies as well as shows in another cool way. Via the new and cool partnership with Amazon.com, TiVo subscribers can download HD videos straight from the Amazon video on demand to their devices.

Roku is not going to be left behind either. So it has partnered with Amazon even further than before in terms of scope. The Amazon Video On Demand service was recently integrated into the Roku DVR. Now Roku supports the upgrade and a variety of HD content will be available for enjoyment on TV via Roku.
Current TV show episodes will be available for sale on both platforms for $2.99. You can rent movies that have just been released for just $3.99 to $4.99. Dolby Digital 5.1 audio is supported by many titles. This is used for surround sound audio.

Who can register for this service? TiVo subscribers with a Series 3 HD, TiVo HD XL or TiVo HD which is connected to the internet via broadband can register. Visit www.amazon.com/videoondemand/tv and register. Once you register you can search and browse available titles. These can then be downloaded to your TiVo.

Entertainment technology at its finest.
