TV.com, the streaming video site is in a deal with TiVo. The deal lets TiVo subscribers find, schedule and record shows from TV.com on their TiVo DVR. On the TV.com site subscribers will click “Record to TiVo” and the request will be sent to their TiVo DVR.
This is a unique deal since the consumer both TV.com and TiVo serve are for time-shift TV programming. In April, TV.com hit an all time viewing high.
Meanwhile Echostar is in a state of confusion about how to design around the technology it has reportedly snitched from TiVo. After a number of lawsuits, Echostar is now finally at a stage where it has all but lost the legal battle with TiVo.
Meanwhile TiVo shares jumped more than 30 percent after the bell and may rise further.
