TiVo is to present at Credit Suisse Global Media and Communications Convergence Conference on June 10th. Representing TiVo will be Vice President of Corporate Development Naveen Chopra. A webcast of this event will be available on the TiVo website at http://investor.tivo.com. Go to the events calendar tab to see the presentation.

Meanwhile, TiVo may be a part of a slugfest. TVNZ owns a third of Hybrid Television. TiVO’s time shifting technology is likely to have a big impact on television viewing habits. In the United States, TV viewing has gone up as a result of TiVo. 37 percent of homes have DVR’s in the U.S.

The fight is between TVNZ and Sky. TVNZ might have a bit of a technological advantage over Sky. TiVO is set to be released in New Zealand in only about 6 months. Not too many details are available. TiVo’s services would be similar to MySky HDi, but they would be free to air.

TiVo offers interactive features in Australia. You can download both free and pay per view movies here. In NZ TiVo is compatible just with Freeview and not with Sky.
